Mt. Manaslu (8163m) is the eighth highest mountain in the world located in Mansari Himal of Gorkha District. Actually, the word Manaslu came from Sanskrit word Manas, which means “Soul or Spirit of Mountain”. The Climb of Mt. Manaslu was started from 1956 AD, after the successful summit of Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu of Japanese Expedition group.

However, the Mt. Manaslu is one known as a technical mountain to climb. The Manaslu Base Camp is situated on the slope and the flat area from where you can see the summit. The way from Camp1 to Camp2 is non-difficult, having many crevasses on the way. Similarly, the way between camp1 to camp2 is almost vertical and steeped. After reaching on Camp2 the climber may need oxygen Cylinder.

In addition, the best season for climbing Manaslu mountain is during the autumn season from September first to October last. The expedition begins from Besi Sahar city of Lamjung district. This expedition offers beautiful mountain sceneries of many mountain peaks like Dhawalagiri, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal. It is also the best trip to learn and enjoy the Gurung and Tibetan Culture. The final destination for the trek is Sama Gaon, which is a nearby market for Base Camp.
