Dhaulagiri I (8,167 m) is known to be the seventeenth highest mountain in the world. Dhaulagiri trekking was first discovered by French expedition team in 1950 that climbed Annapurna I. Just 13 km ahead to the east Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545 ft.) is located. The first summit was climbed on May 13, 1960, by a Swiss/Austrian/Nepali expedition.
Dhaulagiri trekking starts from Beni Bazar and ends in Jomsom. After Italian Base Camp, the trekking will be continued through the glacier and snow clips. The final challenge of this trek, also the highest point of the trek is French pass. The best time to trek on Dhaulagiri Trek is during spring and autumn season.
The facilities of teahouse, lodges, and homestay are available in some places in the route on Dhaulagiri trek, so small groups can do the trekking in this region in teahouse style. If you intend to go on the trek with the large group about 10 or more people than it would be better to organize the trek in camping style. For your benefit, we organize both styles for those who want camping & a feel for the true enjoyment and happiness.
There are few restricted places following the trail for which you will require the entry permit. As a trekking agent, we recommend you to consult with any of the Trekking agency in Nepal before going on this trek. Himalayan Ski Trek can run the trek by reducing cost if there are more trekkers. You can bring some chocolates, water bottles, a camera for capturing the memorable events and umbrella for protection from the weather. For more, in a few places, there is no any shelter for humans so camping is required. The trekking agency will provide you all the requirements but if you like you can bring your own warm sleeping bag, thermos for storing hot water and other more small kinds of stuff.
